The Mainpeak Paddlesports Bay 2 Beach presented by Be Active is Perth's most unique paddle race with national and international paddlers having made their way to compete in the event over the past 5 years; with over 300 paddlers entering the event in 2009. The 2010 event promises to be another well supported race with ocean paddling popularity growing in WA more than any other discipline. Paddlers start at Mosman Bay and head into the river towards Fremantle, passing through the iconic Fremantle Harbour then out around the North Mole inside a buoy off Leighton Beach and down to finish at the iconic Cottesloe Beach.
Paddle Competency
An Open Water Paddle Competency Self Assessment will be part of the online entry process before paddlers can be eligible to enter the race. Entrants will be required to answer "YES" to all questions before they are eligible. For any entrants answering "NO" to any 1 of the 6 questions, please contact Jesse Phillips as specified below.
Open Water Paddle and Awareness Courses will be running in November, the course will last 90 minutes. Contact Jesse Phillips at jesse.phillips@canoe.org.au to book in to a course.
